Totoka Islands off-grid solar generation plant, inverter room and battery system
Totoka Islands’ off-grid solar generation plant with solar modules, inverter equipment and battery storage infrastructure.

At Totoka Islands (Fiji) Pte Ltd, solar power is not only a product we offer — it is a technology we operate every day in our own industrial business. Our experience comes from practical use, demanding operating conditions and the need for reliable power in a real production environment.

We operate an off-grid 500 kWp solar generation plant that powers our timber operations in Drasa, Lautoka. This system supplies energy for three sawmills, a timber drying kiln and a planing machine, supporting a production process where dependable electricity is essential.

Proven in Our Own Operations

Running a timber operation requires strong and stable power. Sawmills, kilns and planing equipment place serious demands on an energy system, especially in an off-grid environment. Our solar generation plant demonstrates that properly designed solar power can support productive industrial work, reduce dependence on diesel generation and provide a cleaner, more sustainable energy source.

Because we use solar power in our own operations, we understand the importance of correct system sizing, suitable installation locations, quality electrical equipment, proper ventilation, battery management, protection from weather and pests, and regular maintenance. These practical details make the difference between a basic installation and a reliable long-term power solution.

Solar Solutions for Fiji

Fiji has strong potential for solar power generation, especially for businesses, farms, workshops, resorts, remote sites and households that want to reduce fuel costs or improve energy independence. Solar systems can be designed for different needs, including off-grid power, hybrid power, backup power and grid-connected generation.

Totoka Islands supplies solar power systems with a focus on durable equipment, practical system design and safe installation. Our goal is to provide solar solutions that are suitable for local conditions and for the customer’s actual power requirements.

What We Focus On

A successful solar power system is more than solar panels on a roof. It requires careful planning and correct installation of the full electrical system, including inverters, batteries, cabling, protection devices, mounting structures and monitoring equipment.

  • System design: matching solar generation and storage capacity to the customer’s real energy demand.
  • Quality equipment: selecting suitable solar modules, inverters, batteries and electrical components.
  • Safe installation: ensuring correct wiring, protection, mounting and commissioning.
  • Long-term reliability: supporting customers with maintenance guidance and practical operating advice.

Industrial Experience, Practical Advice

Our own 500 kWp off-grid system gives us direct experience with the realities of solar power generation in Fiji. We understand that solar equipment must be installed and maintained correctly, especially in humid, coastal or rural environments. Electrical equipment must be protected from leaking rain, moisture, animal damage, pests, poor ventilation and unauthorised modification.

This operational experience helps us advise customers more realistically. We know that every site is different. A good solar solution should consider the customer’s load profile, roof or land area, installation environment, battery requirements, future expansion, safety requirements and maintenance responsibilities.

Cleaner Energy for Productive Work

Solar power generation can help businesses reduce operating costs, improve energy security and lower dependence on fuel-based generation. For Totoka Islands, solar energy is already part of our daily production. It powers important machinery in our timber operation and supports our commitment to more sustainable industrial activity.

Whether for commercial, industrial, agricultural or residential use, Totoka Islands brings practical solar experience from a working off-grid power plant to every customer project.
